Location: Remote with requirement to travel for business needs
Role Purpose:
This opportunity will allow growth and development within the packaging team by working a wide spectrum of packaging materials from concept to launch while investigating sustainable solutions within the portfolio and supporting trials/qualifications within the Hain Celestial Group.
The Packaging Manager should have established expertise in the field of consumer packaging goods and have a clear understanding of the commercialization process from ideation through to product launch. Utilizing their experiences in consumer packaging materials, they will deliver new packaging innovations to the portfolio and identify opportunities to deliver optimization and cost savings opportunities. The hired candidate will have a business-minded, rigorous problem-solving mindset that considers manufacturing capabilities, transportation, sustainability, cost, design, shelf life, and sales in our packaging solutions. This individual will work with the packaging team to develop standard ways of working and contribute to the pipeline of future innovation, productivity and growth for the business globally.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Take the lead with cross functional resources to deliver packaging specific initiatives
- Handle multiple projects at one time and prioritize projects that deliver the best ROI
- Support new product launches, updates to existing portfolio, and sustainability objectives
- Ensure on-time execution of packaging activities for projects
- Build a robust development timeline for packaging related projects
- Identify and drive cost savings opportunities, looking both at individual component level as well as process improvements and manufacturing efficiency gains.
- Support supplier transitions for new packaging and/or materials
- Manage packaging information inputs for finished goods
- Support trials and first production runs with manufacturing plants
- Create protocols/success criteria for trials and first production runs
- Properly plan, coordinate, and report each trial, while providing technical support & expertise as needed to execute trial objectives and ensure proper documentation of each activity
- Team player who collaborates and works well with others
- Thought leadership for advancing packaging sustainability strategy, managing component sustainability database and reporting metrics to cross functional partners and leaders.

Qualifications
Education and/or Experience:
Required:
- Degree in Package Engineering, Packaging Science or related
- Minimum 7 years' experience in a packaging development role required
Preferred:
- Packaging experience in FMCG (fast moving consumer goods) preferred
Competencies and Proficiency Requirements:
- Experience with commercialization and stage gate process
- Experience leading the design of packaging solutions, while keeping in mind sustainability, shelf presence, machine-ability, and shelf life/product protection
- Highly organized with great attention to detail and able to adapt quickly to changing priorities and unexpected requests
- General knowledge and understanding of package testing methodology (ISTA/ASTM)
- Experience with commercialization and managing multiple projects while maintaining deadlines
Scope:
- Financial/Budgetary Responsibility: Manages spend for trails and travel as required by the business.
- Team Size: No direct reports
Conditions of Role:
- Travel Requirements: Remote role with upto 30% travel.
- Physical Conditions: Primarily remote-based, with occasional office presence.
- Work Environment: Professional and collaborative.
Compensation and Benefits:
- $88,000-$117,000 / year (commensurate with experience and location)
