    Primary Responsibilities

    Reporting to the Sr. HR Manager, the Human Resources Generalist will play a critical support role to delivering strong HR service and partnership to key business leaders across our Operations Corporate teams to help drive business performance and a strong people centric culture. This position will play a key role in administering essential day-to-day HR tasks across a wide variety of HR priorities including but not limited to new hire orientation and on-boarding, employee engagement, HR Compliance (policy and procedure), benefits, and employee training. Process orientation, a continuous improvement mindset, and a thorough knowledge of HR principles and practices, including some familiarity with local state law, is critical to success in this role.

    Essential Functions
    • Develop strong working knowledge of KeHE's HR tools, resources, practices, policies and procedures to efficiently and effectively support the business.
    • Collaborate with Manager, HR peers and HR COE's to ensure HR policies and practices are designed to add business value, contributing to efforts on continuous improvement where appropriate.
    • Own efficient and accurate administration of hiring process; including offer letters, employment process compliance, completion of required pre-employment testing (MVR, drug test, background verification), and new hire paperwork.
    • Work in partnership with Manager on employee relations and basic issue resolution.
    • Manage post-hire processes to assist in positive on-boarding experience for new hires (I-9 verifications and New Hire Orientation).
    • Manage the administration of leave of absence and workers compensation; including reporting and handling claims and collaborating with appropriate parties to ensure process and policy compliance.
    • Assist with guiding managers on our performance management processes, inclusive of year end and mid year reviews as well as performance development plans.
    • Maintain safeguards of confidential company information.
    • Represents Company for Unemployment claims and hearings as needed.
    • Maintenance of Personnel Records in compliance with state, federal and local laws
    • Other duties and projects as assigned.

    Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude

    SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
    • Contribute and support to the overall goals of the business and HR function.
    • Capability of prioritizing and handling multiple projects simultaneously, under tight time constraints.
    • Must have the ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve emotional and complex problems or issues, by using judgment that is consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulation or government law.
    • Able to work effectively with employees, peers, and leaders.
    • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.
    • Ability to work in a fast- pace changing environment with cross-collaboration.


    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
    • Minimum 3-6 years HR Generalist experience required.
    • Distribution and/or manufacturing experience within food, beverage and/or retail industry is preferred.
    • Experience working in high growth and rapidly changing business environments with M & A exposure preferred.
    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or a related field preferred, a combination of related experience & education will be considered.
    • PHR/SPHR preferred.
    • Spanish fluency preferred, not required.
