    Primary Responsibilities

    The Tax Reporting & Compliance Manager is responsible for overseeing the organization's tax compliance processes, ensuring timely and accurate filing of all federal, state, and local tax returns. This role ensures compliance with evolving tax laws and regulations, manages audits, and supports strategic tax planning initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical tax background, excellent analytical skills, business acumen and the ability to lead and develop team members.     Essential Functions

    DUTIES, TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Work with external partners to ensure timely preparation and filing of federal, state, and local income, franchise, sales/use, and property tax returns.
    • Manages the day-to-day activities of the Tax Coordinator to ensure accurate and timeline completion of tax-related tasks and provides direction, performance feedback, and professional development.
    • Ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations.
    • Manage necessary business permits, licenses and bottle deposits
    • Coordinate and manage tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities.
    • Collaborate with internal departments and external advisors to ensure accurate tax reporting and planning.
    • Maintain and improve internal controls over tax processes and documentation.
    • Prepare tax disclosures and reporting under ASC 740.
    • Assist with month end close responsibilities and special projects as needed.
    • Other duties and projects as assigned.


    SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
    • In-depth knowledge of U.S. federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
    • Understanding of various legal structures (Corp, LLC) and their respective tax treatment
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems.
    • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to manage and lead tax coordinators.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

    Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master's in Taxation or CPA preferred).
    • At minimum 5+ years of progressive tax experience, including public accounting and/or corporate tax department.
    • A minimum of 2 years of experience managing teams.
    • Experience with Workday and Power BI preferred.
    • Experience with multi-entity compliance and reporting.
