Role Purpose:

The Director, eCommerce leads the strategic direction, execution, and growth of Hain Celestial's North American eCommerce business across Pure Play, Retailer.com, and Direct-to-Consumer channels. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on execution-responsible for shaping the eCommerce vision, driving profitable growth, and personally leading key customer, media, and content initiatives. This position operates at the intersection of Sales and Marketing, integrating commercial strategy, brand activation, and digital media to deliver end-to-end eCommerce performance. The Director partners cross-functionally with Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, IT, and Brand teams to advance Hain's digital commerce capabilities and deliver sustainable, profitable growth.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Define and execute the North America eCommerce strategy, encompassing Pure Play (Amazon, iHerb, Thrive), Retailer.com, and emerging DTC platforms.
  • Own the eCommerce P&L, optimizing trade, retail media, and operational investments to deliver revenue and margin objectives.
  • Personally lead key customer relationships and joint business planning (Amazon, Walmart.com, etc.), ensuring strategic alignment and operational excellence.
  • Balance strategic planning with hands-on delivery-actively managing pricing, promotions, demand forecasting, and retail media investments.
  • Drive digital shelf excellence, overseeing product content, search optimization, conversion performance, and customer experience metrics.
  • Leverage data and analytics (POS, share-of-search, ROAS, and digital shelf metrics) to inform commercial decisions and identify growth opportunities.
  • Partner with Marketing and Media teams to align spend across paid search, DSP, and retail media networks, ensuring maximum ROI and visibility for focus brands.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration across Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, and IT to ensure eCommerce considerations are embedded in broader commercial planning.
  • Build and execute the eCommerce capability roadmap, including analytics, content, and retail media maturity.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop a small, agile team (two direct reports plus agency partners) to enhance executional depth and build future-ready talent.
  • Serve as the connective link between brand vision and commercial execution-translating strategy into actionable plans that deliver measurable results.
  • Partner with Sales, Brand, and Marketing leaders to build integrated eCommerce strategies that align trade, media, and content investment around business priorities.
  • Establish regular business performance reviews and communication routines to provide senior leadership with visibility into eCommerce performance, insights, and capability needs.


Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

Required
    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
    • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in CPG Sales or eCommerce leadership roles, including at least 5 years of direct Amazon 1P/3P or retailer.com management.
    • Proven success developing and executing omnichannel eCommerce strategies that drive profitable growth.
    • Strong financial and commercial acumen, with direct P&L ownership experience.
    • Expertise in retail media, SEO/SEM, digital shelf optimization, and eCommerce analytics.
    • Experience managing agencies and brokers, including setting performance KPIs and accountability frameworks.
    • Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional initiatives that link digital marketing, operations, and sales.

Preferred:
    • MBA or advanced degree in Business, Marketing, or Digital Commerce.
    • Experience managing multiple go-to-market models (1P, 3P, hybrid).

Familiarity with digital commerce tools such as Profitero, CommerceIQ, or similar

Scope:

Financial/Budgetary Responsibility: Own full eCommerce P&L and media/trade investment budgets.

Team Size: 3+ direct reports plus management of external agencies and broker partners.

Conditions of Role:
  • Travel Requirements: Approximately 20-25% for business needs.
  • Physical Conditions: Primarily remote-based, with occasional office presence.
  • Work Environment: Remote with frequent cross-functional collaboration across time zones.

Compensation and Benefits:
  • $146,000 -$205,000 (commensurate with experience and location)
