    Primary Responsibilities

    The Universal Agent is defined as a remote, single source, highly trained, hybrid, generalist who delivers accurate and timely service.

    Schedule is Sunday-Thursday from 9:30 AM EST to 6:00 PM EST

    Essential Functions

    Essential Functions
    • Transact customer requests from both online (phone calls) and /or offline (emails) channels
    • Able to service both internal and external customers - i.e., Grocery, Natural, Chain, Independent, DCs, and Sales
    • Responsible for entry of all manual order types including credit requests into various applications, i.e. - NTS, Customer First, FreshWorks, etc.
    • Ensures accuracy of order / credit entry through compliance with departmental policy and procedures
    • Communicate order and product information such as discount info, deleted items, out of stocks, inventory positions and expirations dates to all customers, as requested
    • Build customer relationships in an effort to cross-sell, up-sell and offer substitution items as appropriate
    • Deliver accurate and timely communication for ETAs and /or late deliveries
    • Create manual tag requests
    • Achieve order deadline goals along with distributing WAVE / All Clear communication
    • Perform communication campaigns for special programs, events, holiday schedules, and situational readiness occurrences
    • Handle necessary mailings of supplies and information to customers and external employees
    • Help with call overflow in emergency situations
    • Must maintain good attendance
    • Maintain safe work practices
    • Maintain safeguards of confidential company information
    • Other duties and special projects as requested

    Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude

    Qualifications / Additional Skills / Aptitude:
    • High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required
    • Minimum 1-year experience, preferably in customer service, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general accounting, supply chain, inside sales and/or transportation
    • Basic data entry/10-key skills
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office
    • Knowledge of office administration and procedures
    • P.E.T - positive attitude, execution, teamwork
    • Experience with credits, customer service, transportation systems, bills of ladings, proof of deliveries, DSD's, shortages, damages is a plus
    • Technical aptitude for working with various financial - e.g., AS400, J.D. Edwards, software, and workforce management platforms
    • Excellent grammar, verbal and writing skills
    • Demonstrate a high energy level and be comfortable performing multifaceted tasks in conjunction with day-to-day activities
    • Excellent interpersonal skills: the ability to get along with diverse personalities, be tactful, mature, and flexible and function well in a team environment
    • Bi-lingual (Spanish-speaking) is a plus
    • Must have excellent analytical, communication and problem-solving skills along with being resourceful and well-organized
