    Primary Responsibilities

    POSITION PURPOSE:

    An SC Carrier Analyst is responsible for managing data retrieval and analysis as it relates to Inbound Transportation. The duties include planning transportation loads, organizing data points, communicating between management and the IT department, and analyzing data to determine the Inbound Transportation Department needs. The job is to use data visualization like Power BI and mining software programs to discover shipment trends, savings opportunities with Transportation department, create process efficiencies, employee productivity, and other projects

    Essential Functions

    DUTIES, TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    The primary duty of the SC Carrier Analyst is to transform data into insight that can help to improve the value of the business. Other duties and responsibilities of a SC Carrier Analyst within a company include:

    • Analyze 3rd party carrier performance, while presenting monthly carrier scorecards to carrier partners via in-person and/or virtual meetings
    • Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external partners.
    • Find timely, efficient, and cost-effective ways to transport goods.
    • Researching procurement and shipping options, analyzing financial data, creating cost estimates, identify problem areas and budget deviations, and overseeing projects.
    • Managing large scale projects, which include, but not limited to, annual/bi-annual RFPs, mini-bids, network and rate analysis.
    • Maintain and organize large rate record files within the TMS and other internal platforms.
    • Developing, Improving, and managing business intelligence solutions for the Inbound Transportation department.
    • Identify inefficiencies in the freight payment cycle and implement robust solutions to speed payment cycle and reduce manual audit intervention.
    • Conduct detailed freight studies and provide detailed analysis / recommendations using a variety of data and system sources including NTS, Cognos, JDA TMS, Fortigo, US Bank Syncada, CzarLite, industry-based publications and in house standalone analytical tools to support operational and freight savings goals.
    • Pro-actively work with Supply Chain, Transportation and Operations to convert new vendors to KeHE's managed transportation program and provide support for existing managed vendors.
    • Assist in exploring new freight conversion opportunities
    • Providing reports through office applications to improve business processes.
    • Collaborating with team members and cross-functional partners for the purpose of collecting data and executing management's vision for the department.
    • Analyzing business requirements and processes and recommending them to the management and executives for implementation.
    • Creating and maintaining documentation that includes the design, requirements, and user manuals for the organization.
    • Identifying the development needs for the purpose of improving and streamlining the operations of the organization for efficiency and profitability.
    • Ability to consolidate, interpret and present data in reports/dashboards for Executive, Team Leads and Individual End Users focused on Logistics and Purchase Order Information.
    • Ability to produce reports and dashboard using Microsoft Power BI and other data tools.
    • Ability to define and document business processes and report/dashboard content needs including business process diagrams, data maps, and data modeling.
    • Consult with project team members and customer stakeholders to identify, define, and document business needs and objectives, current reporting capabilities, and challenges related to the business functions.
    • Test reports/dashboard projects in accordance with business and functional design following best practices for quality assurance.
    • Record and track defects uncovered during test execution and assist in defect resolution (troubleshooting and researching).
    • Comprehension of change management processes.
    • Submit period-close financial reports to accounting team and audit financial reports and forecasts to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, able to multi-task multiple critical projects and responsibilities.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude

    SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
    • Ability to work in a team-oriented and fast-paced environment.
    • Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong knowledge and experience with data reporting tools including Microsoft PowerBI, SSRS, Tableau, etc.
    • Strong knowledge of productivity tools such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proven ability to listen and relate with the customer and/or partner
    • Ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external customers.
    • Proven ability to communicate technical details to a non-technical audience.
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
    • Strong team player that is willing to always help other team members.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
    • Bachelor's degree in logistics, business, economics, or relevant degree.
    • 3+ years prior business, logistics, transportation, brokerage, supply chain, experience.
    • Experience working within a third party logistics (3PL) provider, transportation asset or brokerage carrier, distributor or manufacturer.
    • Experience working on large-scale RFP projects
