Primary Responsibilities
The Director of Inventory Management will be responsible for designing and executing KeHE's enterprise-wide inventory management strategy. This leader will oversee the standards, processes, and teams that ensure inventory accuracy, supplier compliance, and inventory control across all distribution centers. Acting as a key connector between supply chain, transportation, supplier management, and operations, the Director will drive proactive solutions to inventory challenges, implement best practices, and deliver measurable improvements in cost, accuracy, and service levels. Essential Functions
DUTIES, TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and execute KeHE's enterprise inventory management strategy to optimize inventory accuracy, minimize waste, and improve efficiency across all DCs.
- Establish governance models and accountability metrics for inventory control, salvage, and disposition practices.
- Translate corporate objectives into operational priorities, ensuring alignment across supply chain, operations, and supplier management.
- Partner with Supply Chain Planning, Transportation, Site Operations, and Supplier Management to proactively manage inventory opportunities and risks.
- Provide strategic oversight of supplier compliance programs related to barcode standards, pallet configurations, and ti-hi optimization.
- Serve as the executive liaison on cross-functional task forces focused on inventory quality and operational improvements.
- Sponsor and oversee process improvement initiatives to reduce shrink, improve inbound compliance, and enhance system performance.
- Leverage data analytics and insights to guide long-term process enhancements and ensure scalability.
- Lead a team of Inventory Management Process Owners and functional specialists, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Define organizational structure, roles, and responsibilities for the inventory management function.
- Coach and develop team members to strengthen technical knowledge, cross-functional problem-solving skills, and leadership capabilities.
- Own key performance indicators (KPIs) related to inventory accuracy, shrink, supplier compliance, salvage recovery, and customer satisfaction.
- Regularly communicate performance trends, risks, and opportunities to executive leadership.
- Drive accountability across sites to achieve operational and financial targets related to inventory management.
Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in supply chain, distribution, or inventory management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven record of success leading multi-site or enterprise-level inventory management programs
- Experience leading change management initiatives, including standardizing processes and embedding new practices across an enterprise.
