Primary Responsibilities
POSITION PURPOSE:
The Communications & Events Senior Specialist is responsible for supporting the Internal Communications & Employment Branding team across the company's diverse and geographically distributed workforce. Working collaboratively with key stakeholders across the company, this role will be responsible for supporting content creation, editing, and delivery of communications through a variety of channels. As will all positions at KeHE, we expect that all actions will be consistent with KeHE's Mission, Vision, and Values.
Essential Functions
DUTIES, TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supports communications content including emails, newsletters, internet articles, internal marketing campaigns, digital signage posts, videos, and presentations.
- Administers day-to-day operations for the communications department.
- Supports the communications team to deliver clear and consistent messaging that aligns with the company's strategic plan, culture, and brand descriptors.
- Assist in tracking and reporting on the effectiveness of communications activities.
- Assists in the development and execution of communications projects and campaigns to drive awareness, engagement and/or action.
- Drafts, edits, and supports the creation of a variety of communications.
- Deliver communications through a range of communication channels
- Supports internal events including leadership meetings, awards celebrations, and town halls
- Establishes and maintains relationships with vendors and venues related to corporate events
- Plans and manages event details such as contracting, catering, A/V needs, and attendee lists.
- Provides administrative support for the department
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
- Excellent writing and editing skills.
- Expert proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Highly organized and structured with the ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- A service mindset when interacting with internal customers and the ability to tailor communications to audience needs.
- Ability to work well under pressure and simultaneously on multiple tasks.
- High degree of professionalism, self-motivation, and dependability.
- Demonstrates a growth mindset and positivity.
- Strong attention to detail and conceptual thinking.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to consult with other areas of the business providing recommendations on subject matter expertise.
- Ability to work independently and lead projects or tasks in a team environment.
- Experience using digital technology for communications
- Bilingual proficiency a plus
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required with a preference for degrees in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience coordinating communications for a corporation or similar institution required.
- Experience creating and deploying content for a geographically dispersed population.
- Experience managing webinars on virtual platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, etc.
- Experience delivering content through a variety of communications channel software including email newsletter platforms, intranet, digital signage, and employee communications apps.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk/workstation and working on a computer
- Ability and willingness to perform repeated bending and lifting of up to 25 pounds.
