Primary Responsibilities
The Senior Account Manager is a dynamic, results-oriented leader responsible for driving profitable sales growth, optimizing product assortment, and fostering collaborative partnerships with customers, suppliers and brokers. This role serves as the primary liaison between the customer and internal departments, ensuring alignment and delivering exceptional value. The position may also lead a team of Account Managers and Account Analysts.

Essential Functions
- DUTIES, TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and execute strategic account plans to drive sales growth and performance.
- Align customer need business objectives and supplier capabilities to ensure mutual success.
- Manage day-to-day customer relationships across all levels and functions.
- Build and maintain strong supplier partnerships to enhance assortment, speed-to-shelf, promotions, and supply chain efficiency.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams (e.g., supply chain, marketing, growth solutions, operations) to ensure seamless execution and customer satisfaction.
- Deliver results through effective execution of annual budgets and forecasts.
- Cultivate trusted customer relationships that promote transparency and accountability.
- Strengthen connectivity between customer and company leadership.
- Lead and mentor a team, fostering an environment of empowerment, growth, and success.
- Promote a culture of open communication, constructive challenge, and cross-functional teamwork.
- Make bold, integrity-driven decisions with transparency.
- Identify opportunities to enhance customer experience, streamline processes, and improve profitability through innovation and data-driven insights.
- Build authentic relationships with internal and external stakeholders, leading with empathy and respect.
- Proactively identify and mitigate inventory liabilities (e.g., excess, at-risk, discontinued items) in partnership with customers.
- Perform other duties and lead special projects as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in the food industry, including supply chain or related roles.
- Proven track record of sales success, including strategic planning and execution.
- Experience managing complex customer organizations.
- Strong presentation skills, with the ability to listen and ask insightful questions.
- Demonstrated ability to proactively identify and pursue business opportunities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication across all organizational levels.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including some weekends.
- Willingness to travel up to 25%, including overnight stays for business meetings and trade shows (e.g., KeHE Shows, Fancy Food, Expo West & East).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and PowerPoint.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Results-driven, self-directed, with excellent time management.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a customer-centric mindset.
