About the Role
The Sales Director is a key sales leadership position for Sweet Loren’s responsible for driving strategy and growth at key retail accounts in the US.  Reporting to the SVP of Sales, this Sales Director will aggressively expand the development of Sweet Loren’s at key retail channel clients, while working cross-functionally to execute the strategy and deliver results.  The ideal candidate is a seasoned sales leader who has deep experience in the retail channel but can act like an entrepreneur to build the brand to new levels.  You must be able to work in a very fast-paced growth environment and cultivate and deliver new business opportunities with established retailers.  
 
Responsibilities
·        Strategic Plan Development and Execution: Partner with Sweet Loren’s leadership team to execute the company strategic growth plans at key leading retailers with strong bias to execution and results.   Able to sell strategic growth opportunities and concepts.
·        Develop Next-Level Retailer Partnerships: Develop, build, and foster best-in-class relationships with retailers creating long-term value and incremental business opportunities. Candidates must be able to build deep relationships across multiple levels inside retail partners, including buyer, director and VP.
·        Own the Results: Consistently deliver against company goals and KPIs including sales, revenue, distribution goals and cost management.
·        Executional Excellence: Closely work with all key partner stakeholders to ensure all programs, distribution and business development opportunities are executed.
·        Monitor and Track Performance / Build Plans to Deliver Results: Provide on-going performance assessment towards expansion objectives including revenue and sales tracking.
·        Cross-Functional Collaboration: Closely work with distributors and internal / external supply chain partners to ensure strong plan execution and high levels of customer service to clients.
·        Analytical / Selling with Insights: Leverage all available company selling insights to create best-in-class materials that compete effectively with category share leaders.  Strong orientation for using data to build breakthrough insights, strategy and execution plans. 
·        Broker Management: Effectively manage broker relationship and hold account representatives accountable for executing sales objectives. 
 
Desired Skills and Experience
·        10 + years’ Conventional and/or Natural Retail Channel sales experience.  Experience working with key retailers including national and regional chains such as Kroger, Publix, Meijer, Stop & Shop, Albertsons/Safeway, Hy-Vee, etc.
·        Must have experience with developing insurgent, Better-for-You brands within the Retail Grocery Channel, via both direct and distributor route-to-market.  Strong preference for candidates with Refrigerated category or Better-for-You Snacking categories.
·        Demonstrated track record or transformational growth.  Experience scaling brands from early stage to $100mm+.    
·        Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving abilities, verbal/written communication, work organization, influence management.
·        A combination of strong executional and strategy development leadership.  An expert in the sales processes for Conventional and/or Natural Channels.
·        Must be a self-starter that takes initiative and owns performance.  Can work independently with a high degree of hustle.  Entrepreneurial, takes action, and owns results.
·        Effective communicator across all key internal and external stakeholders, holding business partners accountable to deliver on key initiatives and business results.  
·        Able to develop strong partnerships and drive performance with Broker partners.  Can drive a larger share of voice vs the many other brands in the broker portfolio to achieve business objectives. 
·        Willing to travel 50%+ to client appointments and shows.
·        Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. 
·        Strong knowledge of Syndicated Data (SPINS, Nielsen/IRI, Stratum, etc.) is required.
·        Bachelor’s degree emphasizing Sales or Marketing, or equivalent business experience is required.
