Primary Responsibilities
The Senior Manager of Pricing and Cost Management will lead and develop a team focused on supplier pricing and cost management strategies. This role is responsible for enhancing supplier partnerships, optimizing pricing structures, and ensuring cost efficiencies are aligned across the organization. Essential Functions
DUTIES, TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develops and implements strategic plans for proactive supplier pricing and cost management, aligning with organizational goals.
- Establishes and nurtures executive-level relationships with key suppliers to drive long-term partnerships and cost efficiencies.
- Oversees and guides the negotiation of complex supplier agreements, ensuring favorable terms and compliance with agreements.
- Collaborates with senior leadership across merchandising, sales, and finance to integrate supplier cost strategies with overall business objectives.
- Champions best practices in cost management, ensuring continuous improvement and innovation within the team and processes.
- Monitors industry trends, market conditions, and supplier dynamics to inform and adjust strategies proactively.
- Defines and tracks key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of supplier pricing and cost management initiatives.
- Leads and mentors a team of managers and analysts and ensures the team is equipped with the necessary tools, training, and resources to execute their roles effectively.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to align supplier landed costs with business goals.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to communicate complex issues effectively across different organizational levels, from executives to analysts.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills, with a track record of organizing, analyzing, and interpreting large datasets accurately.
- Skillful in influencing and educating the organization on pricing and cost management needs and requests.
- Ability to prioritize workload effectively to maximize supplier or customer satisfaction while achieving performance metrics.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite, particularly Excel. .
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead a team and provide direction.
- Familiarity with supply chain and merchandising processes.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and presentation skills.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in supplier management, negotiations, and landed cost optimization.
- Minimum of 4 years of management experience.
