Job Description

Role Purpose:
The Site Director oversees all manufacturing and distribution operations within each assigned facility location. The Site Director will lead and coach a team of senior managers who encompass all areas of manufacturing and warehousing responsibilities.

Day to day responsibilities include supporting managers in the areas of safety (EHS), quality, production, maintenance, human resources, warehousing/distribution, accounting, and purchasing to ensure the timely and cost-effective manufacturing of high-quality products.

The Site Director is also responsible for establishing the site culture, site compelling business need, and the 3-year masterplan that delivers all KPIs of Safety, Quality, Customer Service and Cost control.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Directs and oversees ongoing performance efficiency of all plant functions through the establishment and monitoring of various organizational goals that seek to meet and/or exceed corporate objectives.
  • Sets Fiscal Year and 90-day priorities for the site
  • Co-creates the Annual and Quarterly financial budgets with Finance to manage costs and optimize profitability.
  • Responsible for the site organizational design and capabilities to deliver the financial targets
  • Ensures all major plant work processes are healthy and deliver the intended results
  • Connects and builds the hourly and salaried teams to improve operational and organizational performance
  • Role models ownership, collaboration, and disciplined execution
  • Completes all assigned key corporate projects, initiatives, and production targets with a high
  • Provides support and guidance in the management of product quality and ensures compliancewith quality and sanitation policies, procedures, and systems to include HACCP, GMPs and the management and reduction of consumer complaints.
  • Continuously evaluate manufacturing capabilities and create a 3-year base capital expenditures program to accommodate future growth and/or operational excellence.
  • Leads development and execution of all safety initiatives inclusive of designing customized action plans for various Food Safety and Quality emergency scenarios.
  • Provides support and guidance in the management of employee performance development and ensures the timely deployment of up-to-date training materials.
  • Ensures all performance issues are addressed in a timely manner and all employees adhere to company policies and procedures on an ongoing basis.
  • Follow all Food Safety guidelines, such as, but not limited to:
    • GMP's
    • Quality
    • Allergen Program
    • HACCP
    • Sanitation
    • Safety
  • Leads the site crisis management team and be responsible for all types of site related crisis
  • Ensure compliance with all FDA, OSHA, local regulatory agencies and auditing requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

Education and/or Experience :
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or manufacturing or equivalent.
  • Consistent track record of delivering significant business KPI goals
  • High People skills capability
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, and government regulations.
  • Able to simply and effectively communicate complex issues up, down and across the organization.
  • Able to effectively work across a matrixed organization design.
  • High degree of financial acumen is required with the ability to perform plant level financial analysis.
  • Is an effective public speaker for internal communications and can form strategic communication plans at a plant level.
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize multiple priorities and strong attention to detail.
  • Computer skills including MS Office programs such as Outlook, Word, Excel PowerPoint.
  • Self-motivated and strong analytical / problem solving skills.
  • Ability to collaborate at all levels of the organization and across other functional areas.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Preferred knowledge of the Consumer Product Goods Industry
  • Work with minimal supervision execute for results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to empower, motivate and inspire staff.
  • Ability to lead change and execute on strategic decisions.
  • Directly supervise a team of leaders who supervise leaders.
  • Actively involved in the hiring and retention of new employees.
  • Conducts annual performance appraisals and approves various matters related to compensation.

Preferred:
  • MBA preferred but not required
  • TPM, TQM, IWS, Six Sigma, or Lean Manufacturing experience
  • Organizational Performance Design capability

Scope:
Financial/Budgetary Responsibility:
  • Co-create annual plant budget and aligned production capability.
  • Report and adjust financial plan on a Quarterly basis per QF (Quarterly Forecasting) cycles
  • Create 90 action plans enhancing and improving the overall financial performance of the site
  • Report monthly financial performance in Monthly Operational Review (MOR) with adjusted action
  • plan for gap closure
  • Build ongoing financial acumen as pertains to the Site Director Role.

Team Size: 9 direct reports

Conditions of Role:
Travel Requirements: Minimum 5-10% travel as needed
Physical Conditions: Onsite at Mountville Plant and South Tree Warehouse

Work Environment:
  • Average ambient temperature of 85 degrees
  • Some exposure to fluorescent lights
  • Exposure to manufacturing equipment hazards, especially forklifts
  • Standing and walking on concrete floors
  • Frequently exposed to a variety of dust particles
  • Forklift Traffic
