    Primary Responsibilities

    We are seeking a strong HR Generalist to support our Dallas, TX distribution center (DC). Our ideal candidate is a problem solver, takes initiative and ownership, and leverages continuous improvement methodologies.

    This role will support the the HR Manager and be responsible for the execution of a variety of HR strategic initiatives. This role is a strategic partner with DC leadership for ongoing HR related activity, such as HR practices, policies and procedures, HR related communications to DC employees, and will facilitate conversations to create and/or enhance employee engagement initiatives.

    Additional responsibilities include partnering with Shared Services to communicate open enrollment and benefits, leaves o absence, workers' compensation and safety, and learning and development. In partnership with the HR Manager, this role will also support employee disciplinary investigations in accordance with Company policies and procedures.

    This role is located on-site Monday-Friday at our Dallas distribution center. The shift is 2pm to 11pm; with the understanding that hours could flex to match the needs of the business.

    Essential Functions
    • Collaborate with management on HR practices, policies and procedures
    • Responsible for driving company and safety culture throughout the facility
    • Administer the hiring process; including compliance, completion of pre-employment testing (MVR, drug test, background verification), ensuring completion of new hire paperwork
    • Administration of company benefits programs to include: 401(k), medical/dental/vision, short and long-term disability (STD/LTD)
    • Managment and administration of workers' compensation, FMLA, and other leaves of absence
    • Work in partnership with the management team on employee relations issues including but not limited to disciplinary investigations
    • Manage the performance evaluation and merit processes
    • Facilitate various trainings including new hire orientation
    • Represent the Company in unemployment claims and hearings
    • Maintain safeguards of confidential information; maintain personnel records and responsible for data entry into the HRIS
    • Other duties and special projects as assigned

    Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude
    • Three to five years of HR Generalist experience, PHR/SPHR preferred
    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field. A combination of related experience and education will be considered
    • Must be proficient in Spanish
    • Strong candidates will be efficient in time management and supporting HR initiatives with minimal supervision.
    • Distribution, manufacturing experience within food, beverage, and/or retail industry
    • Capable of prioritizing and handling multiple projects simultaneously, under tight time constraints
    • Must have the ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve emotional and complex problems or issues by using judgement that is consistent with policies, procedures, regulations, or laws
    • Able to work effectively with front line employees, peers, DC leadership, and regional leaders, as well as corporate HR support functions
    • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions
    • Leave administration and management experience
    • Working knowledge of Texas state and federal employment laws

    Must be able to lift and/or move up to 20 lbs. The employee is frequently required to sit. Travel may be required, but will be minimal.
