Role Purpose:
The Sr. Production Planner is responsible for generating daily and weekly production schedules for the manufacturing plants, while ensuring to adhere to corporate objectives to maintain appropriate target inventory levels for all SKUs. The incumbent will interact with various Operations teams to coordinate manufacturing production schedules and communicate adjustments based on various business and environmental inputs/constraints. The purpose of this role is to deliver fill rate goals effectively and efficiently, while minimizing obsolete and excess inventory.

Role Purpose:

The incumbent will interact with various Operations teams to coordinate manufacturing production schedules and communicate adjustments based on various business and environmental inputs/constraints. The purpose of this role is to deliver fill rate goals effectively and efficiently, while minimizing obsolete and excess inventory.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintains a service level rate of 98.5% or higher for assigned SKUs to ensure the proper amount of inventory is on hand at all times.
- Create weekly schedule for all manufacturing lines, scheduling plant with maximum efficiency while maintaining service expectations.
- Creates Production/Purchase Orders in Prism for finished goods production and associated production schedules for contract manufacturers.
- Ensures accurate deployment of finished goods to meet customer demands across the distribution network.
- Utilizes KPIs and attainment tracking to monitor plant efficiency.
- Help coordinate and track aspects of new product introduction with R&D, marketing, procurements, plants / co-packers as well as SKU rationalization to ensure on time production and shipment of new item launches.
- Implements alternative solutions to resolve excess or out-of-code inventory issues
- Coordinates with accounting to resolve any Accounts Payable invoicing problems
- Assists with other projects, as needed
Qualifications
Education and/or Experience:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Minimum of 4-6 years' experience in master scheduling or production planning capacity
- Previous experience in a scheduling/planning role in a manufacturing environment
- Understanding of manufacturing and production processes
- Knowledge of inventory planning and risk
- Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize multiple priorities and strong attention to detail
- Computer skills including MS Office programs such as Outlook, Word, Excel PowerPoint
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate (verbal/writing) effectively
- Self-motivated and strong analytical / problem solving skills
- Ability to collaborate at all levels of the organization and across other functional areas
Preferred:
- Preferred knowledge of the Consumer Product Goods Industry
Competencies and Proficiency Requirements:
- Flexible approach with willingness to make decisions and seek approvals in a fast paced environment
- Proficiency with end to end supply chain planning software and with MRP/ERP platforms
- Aptitude for numbers, analytics, and an ability to compile, interpret, summarize and communicate information with a data driven approach
- Ability to manage and prioritize competing time sensitive tasks and deadlines
- Competent in arranging transportation and issuing POs and Inventory Transfers
- Familiarity with interfacing and resolving supplier invoicing issues with Accounts Payable
- Knowledgeable in Contract Manufacturing and Third Party Logistics
- Skilled in Supply Planning, Distribution Requirements Planning, and Inventory Management
- Seasoned in Supply Chain Management and manufacturing
- Superior Communicator, clear, concise, data-driven manner
- Self Starter with a strong work ethic
