Primary Responsibilities
The Logistics Account Manager will be responsible for managing a team of logistics coordinators to ensure a smooth and efficient execution of various logistics programs along with monitoring operational performance, fostering relationships with customers, carriers, and warehouse partners, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Essential Functions
DUTIES, TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develops and maintains relationships with customers, carriers, and 3rd party warehouse locations.
• Gathers feedback to understand evolving needs and identify opportunities for additional logistics services.
• Drives improvement actions based on feedback received from customers, carriers, and warehouse partners.
• Manages a team of logistics coordinators and sets performance expectations and provides necessary tools and resources for the team.
• Monitors team execution and holds them accountable for meeting high-performance standards.
• Conducts regular reviews, provides feedback and training for employee growth and development. • Oversees operational tasks such as order entry, planning, optimization, shipment tendering, appointment scheduling, track and trace, and OS&D resolution.
• Ensures timely and accurate processing of orders, shipments, and customer updates.
• Supervises load management and freight audits to maintain accuracy and compliance.
• Interacts with customers and carriers to understand their changing needs and provide solutions accordingly.
• Processes pricing inquiries from customer development for new business opportunities.
• Responds to pricing requests originating from existing customer accounts, providing rules and provisions around pricing structures.
• Manages escalations and addresses issues outside the scope of the team.
• Coordinates with other departments to resolve issues.
• Monitors planning and routing to ensure customer requirements are met.
• Analyzes P&L by customer, identifies trends, and addresses problem areas to maintain a healthy P&L.
• Continuously evaluates current processes and technology usage to identify areas for improvement.
• Drives initiatives to optimize performance and increase efficiency while meeting customer requirements.
• Facilitates onboarding for new customers, understanding their requirements, pricing information, and resource options.
• Provides initial orientation and training for new hires and ongoing training for team members.
• Conducts daily planning and coordination meetings to address current issues, make decisions, and delegate tasks.
• Supports the administrative team with billing issues and questions as needed.
• Works cross-functionally with internal teams to meet the company's vision and goals.
• Other duties and projects as assigned.
Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers, carriers, and internal teams.
• Proficiency in logistics management systems and Microsoft Office.
• Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
• Knowledge of transportation regulations and industry best practices.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to travel by car, train, or airplane periodically as required by the company.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in logistics operations, with a focus on team management and customer relationship management.
• Minimum of 3+ years of management experience in leading a team.
