    Primary Responsibilities

    The Business Analyst supports the organization's data-driven initiatives by translating business needs into analytical solutions and actionable insights. This role will collaborate with stakeholders across teams gathering requirements, develop reports and dashboards, and ensure data is effectively leveraged to inform decision-making. Along with that, this is a key role in bridging the gap between business operations and technical teams-ensuring that data insights are meaningful, accurate, and aligned with organizational goals.     Essential Functions

    DUTIES, TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify reporting and analytical needs, translating them into clear technical requirements.
    • Serve as a liaison between business users and technical teams to ensure data solutions meet business objectives.
    • Design, build, and maintain reports and dashboards that provide actionable insights for operational and strategic decision-making.
    • Validate and troubleshoot report results to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability.
    • Support the adoption and ongoing improvement of BI tools and visualization standards.
    • Analyze data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement across key business functions.
    • Deliver concise, well-structured reports and presentations that communicate insights effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Support ad-hoc data requests and exploratory analyses as needed by leadership and business units.
    • Work closely with the BI Manager and team members to prioritize work and ensure timely delivery of projects.
    • Contribute to process improvements, automation efforts, and standardization of analytics workflows.
    • Promote data literacy across the organization by helping users interpret dashboards and reports.
    • Other duties and projects as assigned.


    SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
    • Strong analytical mindset with an ability to link data findings to operational performance and financial outcomes.
    • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain logistics metrics and insights to non-technical stakeholders.
    • High attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in data extraction, validation, and presentation.
    • Collaborative, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
    • Proficiency in BI and visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
    • Strong SQL skills and experience querying transportation or ERP databases (e.g., SAP, Oracle, MercuryGate, BluJay, Manhattan, or similar).
    • Advanced Excel proficiency (pivot tables, complex formulas, VBA/macros preferred).
    • Familiarity with Python, R, or data automation tools for advanced analytics is a plus.
    • Demonstrated success developing dashboards and KPIs related to transportation cost, carrier utilization, on-time performance, and customer service metrics.
    • Familiarity with logistics network design, lane-level analytics, mode optimization, and freight audit processes is highly desirable.

    Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
    • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Analytics, Industrial Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field preferred.
    • 2-5 years of experience as a Business Analyst or Data Analyst within logistics, supply chain, or a 3PL/4PL environment.
