Role Purpose:
Conduct in depth Payroll Processing, ensuring all employees are paid accurately and on time by calculating wages, deductions, and taxes while maintaining compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for full-cycle payroll activities for North America based employees in accordance with established processes, including auditing payroll records for compliance with policies and relevant tax and regulatory requirements
- Address and resolve high-level employee inquiries regarding wages
- Provide guidance to Finance in general ledger reconciliations pertaining to payroll accounts and labor expense distribution
- Address inquiries from 3rd party administrators, other departments, and various agencies concerning payroll, ensuring high customer service
- Process employee terminations, calculate final pay in accordance with local laws and regulations, and process severance payments if applicable
- Work with Benefits administration, including Worker's comp, 401k, section 125, and other related benefits
- Research new regulations pertaining to payroll to meet all statutory reporting and compliance requirements and work with Payroll provider to implement new rules and changes
- Validate system-generated (vacation/holiday) and sick leave balances and accruals
- Review and maintain Payroll system, ensuring optimum performance
- Document payroll processes and develop into SOPs
- Monitor, review and audit payroll and identify payroll discrepancies, making necessary corrections and reconciliations as needed
- Coordinate internal SOX auditing and verification of all paperwork process
- Improve efficiencies by identifying opportunities to automate processes
- Participate in ad-hoc business projects, as necessary
Qualifications
Education and/or Experience:
- Required: 5 years minimum payroll processing experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred
Competencies and Proficiency Requirements:
- Strong understanding of payroll principles and putting them into practice
- Proficiency with payroll software applications, ADP and Workday required
- Ability to lead Payroll processes and oversee Payroll Analyst duties
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Analytical skills to identify trends and potential issues in payroll data
- Knowledge of Federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations
- Strong communication skills and ability to explain complex payroll information to employees and management

Conditions of Role:
- Travel Requirements: 10%
