Location: Remote with requirement to travel for business needs
Role Purpose:
The Trade Marketing & Category Development Manager will assist the Pillar Lead and Marketing team with the channel and customer aspects of delivering the annual operating plan, with a strong focus on delivering the revenue/trade spend budgets, slotting funds allocation and innovation targets across their respective categories and brands. In addition, they will lead, enhance, and drive category strategy by being a thought leader and "go-to" resource for all category trends and merchandising solutions. This role is an integral part of the marketing leadership team and the voice of Sales throughout the S&OP Process. Linked to brand teams with national scope for a set of categories and brands.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create business development initiatives that will enable the field sales teams to execute brand strategies.
- Develop, implement and track compliance of Channel Pricing Strategies
- Partner with cross functional teams to develop programs with strong incremental sales and ROI while maintaining trade marketing budget.
- Integral participant in Demand Reviews/S&OP leading to monthly consensus forecast
- Ensure trade spend meets objectives within brands to deliver short-term and long-terms financial goals.
- Be a strategic thought partner, deriving insights from of a broad range of data sources including Circana, Spins, Mintel, and other tools to develop category growth platforms, selling stories, category reviews and business reviews and make fact-based assortment, merchandising, pricing, and promotion recommendations to drive category growth.
- Act as a category subject matter expert by possessing a deep knowledge of retailer categories and Hain (meal prep) brands.
- Provide execution lens for innovation projects. Set key customer launch targets and monitor compliance.
- Facilitate communication between field sales and internal cross functional teams to ensure alignment and successful execution.
- Actively monitor execution of plans and intervene when course corrections are required to ensure brand and sales targets are met.
- Act as steward across go-to-market strategy ensuring customer voice is considered.
Qualifications
Education and/or Experience:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in business or related field required. MBA preferred.
- Trade Marketing and Category Management required
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in field sales, sales planning, trade marketing, category management, or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 2 years of CPG experience required.
- Very strong analytical skills required.
- Very strong project management skills required.
Preferred:
- Sales experience preferred.
Competencies and Proficiency Requirements:
- Experience using consumption reporting tools (i.e. IRI, SPINS, Nielsen, customer specific data, etc.) and the ability to transform to data to insights to actions.
- Ability to become expert in internal sales reporting software.
- Expert in MS Office (minimum Excel, PowerPoint and Word).
- Ability to manage and prioritize work and a sense of urgency is critical.
- Highly organized and detail oriented.
- Very strong communication skills are a must as well as the ability to work as part of cross functional teams.
- Must possess a competitive spirit and mindset.
