Overview/Purpose:

Training Lead is a subject matter expert who provides employees with skills needed to safely and proficiently operate equipment. This individual will foster safety, knowledge sharing, teamwork and productivity. This position will conduct training when needed as well as audit current training techniques to ensure exceptional and consistent methods are used. This position will also administer and develop training materials (Guides, Checklists, SOPs, OPLs, etc.) to support growth and development of production team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure training matrix is completed and kept up-to-date and accurately measures skills required to successfully run equipment within department.
  • Partner with employees to ensure adherence and continuous improvement of training matrix.
  • Identify and administer proficiency testing of the training matrix and develop remediation plans for skills that 'need improvement'.
  • Establish audit cadence and data points for tracking of tasks/results related to training matrix. Coach employees and/or trainers of corrections needed for effective results.
  • Develop and/or maintain Training Guides, Standard Operating Procedures, and One Point Lessons for each piece of equipment within the department.
  • Ensure knowledge and skills are up to date on all equipment; in doing so you may be asked to operate equipment based on business need and conduct training 1:1.
  • Coach & develop trainers to successfully onboard & develop new hires. Be an active participant in corrective action follow-up to enhance skillset and productivity.
  • Assist in launching of training materials for any new equipment that is brought into the facility.
  • Ensure compliance with all FDA, OSHA, local regulatory agencies and SQF auditing requirements
  • Other duties and projects as needed
  • Follow and foster all Food Safety guidelines, but not limited to:
  • Safety / Quality / GMP's / Allergen Program / HACCP


Qualifications

Shift - Monday through Friday (occasional weekend overtime during busy season)

Hours - Swing Shift 2:30 pm - 11:00 pm

Requirements of Position:
  • 3+ years of production operations experience
  • Proficiency in MS Office software (Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Positive communication and emotion intelligence - Bilingual (Spanish) read, write, speak
  • Proactive and strong coaching skills, partnering skills, relationship management
  • Excellent organization, prioritization skills, and follow up
  • Strong Safety, Quality & Food Safety Record
  • Strong adherence to policies and procedures
  • Forklift Certified or willing to be trained
