Job Description

Location: Hybrid out of Hoboken, NJ (or Boulder, CO)

We are looking for a creative and inclusive product development leader responsible for the design and commercialization of great tasting, better for you snacks supporting the Hain Celestial brand portfolio. Reporting to the Vice President R&D, North America, the role will also support the delivery of strategic innovation, quality, renovation, and cost savings initiatives for the Hain Reimagined strategy. The role will manage a team with 3 direct reports supporting key initiatives and the snack innovation pipeline. This role will partner with key business and technical stakeholders (e.g. quality, supply chain, procurement, marketing...) in support of technical design and commercialization excellence. The individual must embrace agile design principles, display a growth mindset, and embody our Hain Values (Be Curious, Own It, Foster Inclusion, and Win Together).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead an agile team that will drive the creation of a robust snack R&D pipeline (product & concept) supporting our core better-for-you snack brands, managing ambiguity (e.g. Garden Veggie Snacks, Terra Chips, and Garden of Eatin')
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to build momentum for product ideas/recipes, create prototypes and successfully commercialize products using Hain owned and/or co-manufacturer resources in support of business objectives
  • Conduct technical risk assessments and develop solutions demonstrating technical thought leadership
  • Communicate R&D perspectives related to consumer trends, flavors, and base snack forms, acting as "one technical voice" in alignment with quality/regulatory/packaging partners
  • Identify, develop, and implement cost savings initiatives in accordance with company goals
  • Effectively represent ideas in cross functional forums, communicating key opportunities, risks, and milestones, to support effective decision making
  • Ability to negotiate, influence, network, and communicate across the enterprise demonstrating business acumen with all partners
  • Effectively manage multiple product development workflows (e.g. documentation, specification development, product evaluations, sample creation, integrating design feedback).
  • Provide leadership, coaching and professional development to direct report(s), developing our culture and aligned with Hain Celestial purpose, mission, vision and values.


Qualifications

Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of R&D product development experience with a track record of commercialization success, CPG experience preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in food science, Chemical Engineering or related field. (Masters preferred)
  • Experience managing multiple direct reports and projects through commercialization
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage ambiguity, with a bias for action
  • Passion for great food design
  • Experience in critical snack unit operations (e.g. extrusion, baking, sheeting, slicing frying, seasoning, drying...)
  • Knowledge of food ingredients & functionality
  • Ability to travel, domestic & international (30-40%)
  • Time and project management skills
  • Executive presentation skills
  • Proficiency in relevant laboratory analysis methods (e.g. moisture, fat, salt...)

Compensation and Benefits:
  • $148,000 -$185,000 (commensurate with experience and location)
