About the Role
We are seeking a Director of Brand Development and Communications to bring Sweet Loren’s mission—to inspire wellness and help families discover the joy of better-for-you baked goods—to life. This leader will shape and manage the brand voice across all touchpoints, ensuring consistent storytelling and impactful connections that drive awareness, engagement, and growth. The ideal candidate combines brand building, integrated communications, and digital marketing expertise with strategic vision, hands-on execution, and a creative, analytical, results-oriented mindset. They will anticipate consumer needs, track cultural trends, and lead a high-performing team.
 
Responsibilitiies:

Brand & Communications Leadership:
  • Develop and implement an integrated communications strategy that connects paid, earned, owned, and shared channels.
  • Manage brand voice and ensure consistency across all consumer and customer-facing touchpoints.
  • Partner with external agencies (PR, creative, media) to deliver compelling narratives and breakthrough activations.
Media and Digital Strategy:
  • Lead the development and execution of media strategies across paid, owned, and earned channels to drive brand awareness an engagement.
  • Manage all aspects of strategic media planning, including campaign design, budgeting, and performance measurement.  
  • Own and optimize Email CRM programming, focusing on acquisition, personalization and retention
  • Ensure cohesive brand messaging across marketing, PR, and communication channels
  • Social Media Strategy and Engagement:
  • Manage the development and execution of a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with brand and business objectives.
  • Oversee content planning, publishing, and performance monitoring across all social channels.
  • Manage development of inspiring, on-trend content that drives traffic, engagement, and conversion 
  • Drive innovation in social storytelling, influencer partnerships, and community management to expand reach and engagement.
  • Analytics and Performance Management:
  • Establish KPIs, forecast channel performance, and manage budgets to deliver against year-end targets. 
  • Leverage consumer insights and data analytics to evaluate performance across touchpoints an inform ongoing optimizations
  • Partnership and Media Relations
  • Manage PR strategy and agency partnerships to secure earned media and increase brand visibility
  • Develop and execute influencer programs and brand collaborations that extend reach and relevance 
  • Team Leadership
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing, best-in-class team, fostering creativity, collaboration, and accountability.
  • Set clear goals, provide coaching, and champion professional development across the broader marketing and communications team.
Desired Skills and Experience 
·        Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
·        10+ years of experience in brand marketing, digital marketing, communications, or related fields, ideally within CPG or consumer lifestyle brands.
·        Proven experience leading brand strategy, innovation initiatives, and integrated marketing campaigns.
·        Strong expertise in social media strategy, including content planning, publishing, influencer management, and performance measurement across Meta, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Pinterest, and YouTube.
·        Well-versed in performance marketing, conversion optimization, CRM, and online customer acquisition.
·        Solid knowledge of web and marketing analytics tools (Google Analytics, Hootsuite, etc.), with ability to translate insights into actionable strategies and A/B testing plans.
·        Demonstrated ability to build, execute, and scale omnichannel strategies, integrating innovation, social, e-commerce, and communications initiatives.
·        Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a strong ability to craft compelling brand storytelling and consumer-facing copy.
·        Proven project management skills, capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
·        Experience managing and mentoring teams, including direct reports, fostering collaboration, accountability, and professional development.
·        Highly data-driven, with the ability to analyze performance metrics and inform strategic decisions.
·        Creative, adaptable, and resourceful, able to pivot quickly and thrive in a dynamic environment.
·        Energetic, levelheaded, and strong at problem-solving, with a collaborative “can-do” attitude.
·        Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and common marketing platforms.
