Location: Remote with requirement to travel for business needs

The Sr. Manager, Supplier Quality & Compliance oversees the Supplier Quality & Compliance team in driving efficiency and in the ongoing compliance of our Supplier Program in maintaining safe and quality foods, while driving continuous improvement to exceed the expectations outlined in the Food Safety Modernization Act and our own internal policies. The incumbent ensures flawless execution of supplier verification activities and management of relationships to drive on-going compliance with compliance with internal and external partners.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Leads process for the Qualification of New Suppliers, including but not limited to risk assessments, hazard analysis evaluations, specification approval, testing requirements, and validation of food safety documents.
  • Plans and manages product safety programs and processes to meet all company, federal, state, provincial, and local required standards. Conducts internal audits against corporate quality and product safety policies with associated CAPA follow-ups
  • Provides mentoring, training, technical assistance to site quality teams. Works closely with manufacturing sites on the implementation of Hain Q&PS Policies, guidelines, and standards. Works closely with manufacturing sites on ensuring compliance to federal, state and GFSI / ISO standards (and any other applicable standards)
  • Manages external and internal audit plan and reporting, including evaluation and calibration of third-party audit firms.
  • Performs and/or schedules both 'for cause' and routine second party audits to investigate product safety or quality issues with suppliers and co-manufacturers and ensure materials/finished goods meet internal specifications. Write/review audit reports and request corrective actions for 'non-conformance findings' as needed
  • Directs team in on-going management of suppliers, including annual document review, change notifications, and review of non-conformances.
  • Manages deviation process to ensure compliance to quality and food safety requirements for out of specification ingredients, spot buys, and non-conformances.
  • Facilitates the resolution of complex quality issues including corrective actions and overseeing vendor disqualification processes with Procurement.
  • Reports monthly supplier scorecard metrics for internal and external partners to drive continuous improvement with suppliers.
  • Leads annual Quality Review process for Supplier Management & Compliance program.
  • Serves as subject matter expert for Supplier Management Systems, including SharePoint, Supplier Management System, TraceGains, ProductVision, and PRISM
  • Provides guidance, direction and training to cross-functional team on all Supplier Quality and Compliance program requirements and systems.
  • Acts as Special Situations Leader in the event of a product issue
  • Builds relationships and educates internal/external business partners to drive program compliance.
  • Assists with other project, as needed.


Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:
Required:
  • Minimum five years' experience in a quality assurance support capacity or related role
  • Bachelor's degree in food science, chemistry, microbiology, or a related scientific field

Competencies and Proficiency Requirements:
  • Expert knowledge of ingredient food supplier verification process
  • Preferred knowledge of the Consumer Product Goods Industry.
  • Experience using Supplier Management Systems, ProductVision, and SharePoint preferred
  • Ability to represent the company needs when dealing with suppliers, contract manufacturers, regulatory agencies, and other
  • departments within the corporation
  • Identifying risks and expedient communication of issues
  • Knowledge of GFSI, HACCP, Food Safety Management, and Auditing
  • Knowledge of FDA Regulations and the Food Safety Modernization Act; PCQI preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize multiple priorities and strong attention to detail.
  • Computer skills including MS Office programs such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate (verbal/writing) effectively.
  • Self-motivated and strong analytical / problem solving skills.
  • Ability to collaborate at all levels of the organization and across other functional areas.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

Scope:
  • Team Size: Oversees Supplier Quality & Compliance team. Currently a team of 4 direct reports.

Conditions of Role:
  • Travel Requirements: Ability to travel up to 30% as needed to support quality initiatives.

Compensation and Benefits:
  • $123,000-$145,000 / year (commensurate with experience and location)
