Primary Responsibilities
The Account Specialist is responsible for in-store merchandising and execution, driving sales growth opportunities and maintaining store partnerships. The Account Specialist will maximize sales through product placement and will be responsible for executing Store Solutions activities. Success and compensation for the position will be based upon his/her ability to increase sales in each store. Essential Functions
- Execute sales strategy as developed by Account Manager and Retailer with a sense of urgency.
- Present, sell and execute all promotional activity at a store level or Regional level (if applicable).
- Effectively communicate with Retailer store personnel, merchandising manager, and Regional Directors, building strong partnerships.
- Understand / Analyze product movement using PBI, to assist with void closures and gap opportunities to drive sales.
- Share sales materials to educate store personnel on planogram integrity and optimization.
- Conduct store sales surveys when needed prior to shows, new store openings, reset or re-merchandising projects.
- Manage and execute in-store initiatives, ensuring new item placement and void closure while maximizing awareness of customers, contributing to sales growth.
- Execute shelf tag integrity so that all items are properly tagged and priced.
- Supplement sales strategy in conjunction with sales leaders across the organization.
- Responsible for innovation, education, and merchandising techniques to drive customer traffic and sales revenue.
- Impact sales revenue by influencing placement of products.
- Responsible for successful rollout of new merchandise including communication and execution with store.
- Effectively communicate with store personnel, merchandising manager and any other key personnel on projects, project planning, and timing of execution.
- Execute on day-to-day completion of sales and merchandising activities.
- Cost management of business expenses adhering to budgets set for Retailer.
- Knowledge of product/categories, and merchandising techniques.
- Seek continued product knowledge to become a specialty product "expert'. Must be motivated to achieve personal development.
- Foster a cross-functional environment with clear expectations and transparency.
Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude
- High school diploma/GED required (associate degree preferred).
- Outstanding communication (both verbal and written) and relationship management skills with people at all organizational levels.
- Demonstrated ability and passion to sell in an incentive-based environment.
- Proficient in using Excel, PowerPoint, PBI and other like tools.
- Prior experience in food industry and/or code sensitive product environment preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively identify long-term issues, develop and implement strategies to address those issues, and link shorter-term activities to these strategies.
- Demonstrated proficiency in attention to accuracy and detail.
- Demonstrate competencies in the following areas: financial acumen, ability to collaborate, courage, sense of urgency, and effectively manage complexity of many priorities.
- Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, to include support when needed for store reset, remodels or product samples for stocking shelves.
- Ability and willingness to travel daily with overnight stay can be needed to support the requirements of the position.
- Follow established KeHE policies and procedures to accomplish the above accountabilities.
- Other duties and special projects as requested to support the Retailer.
